This time around we turn back to the mountain men and talk with Doug Chabot, an avalanche specialist, mountain guide, climber, and co-founder of the non-profit Iqra Fund.
Doug talks about how he went from being a New Jersey boy with no wilderness skills to a respected climber with several first ascents and notable climbs in the Karakorum, Hindu Kush, and Pamir mountains.
He also tells the story of Chris' (the problem solver) daring leap off the side of a cliff in Yosemite after pulling off a base jumper's body, and talks about why it's so damn important (and easy) to help little girls in Pakistan gain access to education.
When he's not being a boring old mountain climber, Doug works at the Gallatin National Forest Avalanche Center as the Director/Avalanche Specialist in Bozeman Montana.
Nik Hawks helps run the show at Paleo Treats. Fascinated by humans in all their strange glory, Nik is harnessed in and pulling hard in pursuit of excellence with the rest of the PT Crew. Enjoy!
