Episode 11: Mike Ritland, Navy SEAL & dog trainer

Warning: This podcast contains at least one graphic hunting story and plenty of profanity.  What can I say, it's a bunch of ex-military guys sitting around and shooting the shit about (wo)man's best friend. With that said, listen in to the questionable audio (we had lots of trains go by during this one) as we hang out with one of the best dog trainers around, Mike Ritland.

A former Navy SEAL and current provider of dogs to various agencies throughout the US Govt, Mike knows more about dogs than damn near anyone else out there.  From how to select the right dog for intense K9 work to what to feed it  (Paleo, duh!) to how to keep a handle on your home pooch, Mike literally wrote the book on it.  Check out his books Navy SEAL Dogs: My Tale of Training Canines for Combat and Trident K9 Warriors: My Tale from the Training Ground to the Battlefield with Elite Navy SEAL Canines.

If you're a dog lover you're gonna 'em.  Enjoy!

Hi Steve,
We try and stay mainly in the dessert section; our friends over at Steve’s Paleo Goods do a really good job of the snack stuff, check ’em out at http://www.stevespaleogoods.com/

Any thoughts on having an energy bar type Paleo Treat similar to a cliff bar? One that wouldn’t be refrigerated and would be able to be stored in room temperature backpacks for some length of time?
