An apology

The pursuit of excellence is not purely a chase, not ever one victory following another in endless march.

We struggle, attempting ever finer and finer actions, not knowing the end state with pure clarity, knowing only the refinement of feel, the information that was always there beginning to show as we scratch away the amateur’s interest and enter the realm of the professional.

In this pursuit we err. This is part of victory, this defeat, these mistakes. Each mistake is keenly felt, the cut is to the quick.

The reply to every mistake is not to dwell in failed space but to again attempt greatness. There is no guarantee of result, all we can give is our fullest effort. I apologize. I know one more of what not to do. I will do better next time. That is the best, the only, of what I can give.
