Learn to Prep: Make Ahead Paleo book review

One of the biggest problems with Paleo for many people is that it takes so much time to eat healthy. Sure, you can duck and dodge that with a few quick 'n easy recipes, but at the end of the day, yes, making healthy (paleo) food does take more time than going through the drive through at MacDonalds.  How do you get around that?Make Ahead Paleo book cover You don't, damnit.

This is real life, and good stuff takes time to make.  With that said, there are two ways to do something:  Right, and again.  Tammy lays out the right way to eat super healthy even while being busy and pressed for time.

Way back in my former life we used to live by the 7 P's: Proper Prior Planning Prevents Piss Poor Performance.  While it doesn't save you time in the short term, the 7 P's will get you where you want to go, and achieving a goal is more important in my book (and damn well should be in yours) than shaving a couple of minutes off your cooking time.

That's where this book, Make-Ahead Paleo by Tammy Credicott, really shines.  See, most of us can Google around, pick out a recipe, head out to the store or wild, buy or forage ingredients, come home and rock a really bitchin' tasting Paleo recipe.

This book is full of those great recipes, with an upgrade: This shows you how to prepare a bunch of that delicious food ahead of time so when you're on the go you can still eat shockingly good food. Most of us think about 1 or 2 meals ahead, but Tammy shows you how to think 4 days to a week ahead, how to prep that food and make it in one big push.

That allows you to focus on kicking ass throughout the rest of the week and not worrying about where your healthy and clean food is coming from. Now, rather than making some big bullshit marketing promise, let me tell you right now that this book isn't a shortcut to healthy eating.

It ain't a recipe set for a bunch of powder you can buy over the net, mix with water and become a super machine.  This is a book for folks who understand and accept that eating well will cost a little more and take a little more time, and are willing to put in the effort to maximize their efficiency in the kitchen kicking ass and pulling pork. That is all.

If you're busy you probably just skipped to the end.

Just buy the goddamn book. No Shit Note:  We make a small commission if you click the Amazon link above.  Calm down, that's how the internet works.  If you don't want to support us you can totally Google this book and buy it for the same price (or lower) somewhere else.
